Brothers Thomas and Sam have found common ground in their weekly Dungeons & Dragons sessions with friends. Over five years, Carina, their older sister, documents the brothers’ coming of age. However, as the group grows up and moves on, Thomas - the Dungeon Master - refuses to let go.

Amid all the things Thomas cannot control in his life - including school, friends, and especially his younger brother Sam - he finds solace and purpose in his weekly Dungeons & Dragons sessions. As a neurodivergent teen, Thomas calls the shots as the Dungeon Master, guiding his friends on their latest adventure through treacherous lands. However, the winds of change howl through both the Forgotten Realms, where their adventures take place, and the suburbs of Glasgow. It’ll take more than a twenty-sided die to determine if Thomas and Sam will survive the onslaught of adolescence.
